The Insurance Fraud - Companies, Producers &
Policy Holders
Self-Study Course provides licensee with a broad overview of the
problems of insurance fraud in the industry today and the
actions being taken, on various fronts, to inhibit those practices
to reduce costs to individual and business consumers.
In addition to content developed by the
Insurance Training Institute specifically for this course, the
manual provides students with resources published by the New York
State Insurance Department, various public media organizations,
insurance carriers and professional organizations.
Proper review of the course manual will prepare
students to successfully complete the monitored examination. The
course is structured to enable complete review of the manual in
eight hours, as shown in the outline.
The examination is a 50 questions test. The
examination is typically completed within 30 minutes, however, a
total of 60 minutes is allowed to each student.
The questions bank used for the Insurance
Fraud, Companies, Producers and Policy Holders monitored examination is updated
annually. Specific questions which become obsolete are removed as
necessary.
The Insurance Training Institute requires
students to complete all examinations in a closed book
fashion, with
no discussion during the examination period. Registered monitors
are stationed to ensure compliance with these standards and to
assist students with general testing procedure questions.
